Buy Drimiopsis kirkii plant, making a unique addition to your indoor plants collection. The plant is totally an exotic and rare indoor plant, with strikingly unique appearance due to the beautiful dark green maculates (spots/patches) on its lemon green fleshy leaves. The plant is also called leopard lilly for the maculates that look like dark patches on a leopard. It has a perennial growth pattern, proliferates easily and is adaptable and resilient, making it very easy to maintain and care for. The plant yields beautiful and delicate tiny white and green flower spikes along a single strip, generally during the months of September to April. This plant is a great replacement to a living room artificial center piece.

Description

Name Drimiopsis kirkii
Common names Silver Squill, Leopard Lily
Hindi names ड्रिमोप्सिस किर्की, सिल्वर स्क्विल, लोपर्ड लिली
Type Low growing bushy shrub
Growth pattern Perennial
Exposure to sun Place them in bright light position or provide dappled light but avoid constant and direct sunlight exposure. While the Drimiopsis plants prefer bright light excessive sun light may scorch its leaves especially during summers.
Light  Provide bright, indirect light for optimal growth. The plant prefers sufficient light which also plays key role in developing the maculates (spots/patches). A prolonged period of low light may cause wilting of leaves.
Soil These plants are quite adaptably to soil types, however, use well-draining potting mix. As a result of fast multiplication, the root bulbs tend to overcrowd the pot. Divide the bulbs and repot.
Pruning Pinch off the dried leaves. Repot when overcrowded with good number of root bulbs
Maintenance level  Low
Air-Purifying qualities No

*Note: the decorative planters in the picture gallery are for representation purpose only. The Drimiopsis kirkii plant will come in 4 inch black or brown grow pot. Decorative pots and planters if required must be purchased separately.

reviewI purchased a plant online for the first time and the dealer happened to be Blooms n Bough. Blooms n Bough impressed me with its excellent service. I had ordered Giant Squill plant and it arrived in very smart, safe, and secure packaging. Blooms n Bough logistics handled the plant extremely well. The plant was in perfect condition, healthy, and hydrated when I opened the package. This brand is trustworthy for buying plants online. Excellent value for money.

COMMENTBlooms n Bough is an incredible indoor plant seller. I’m not new to buying plants online and I have to admit, I think the way BnB packaged the Giant Squill plant that I ordered was the best I’ve seen (for both the plant and for me as a buyer)! Owner was incredibly sweet and communicative, and even sent me a beautiful free plant as a gift! Their plants are reasonably priced and buying indoor plants from them is absolutely recommendable.

PLANT TYPE

Sapling

A sapling is a young plant and will come in a smaller size. Why take a sapling? While it is wonderful to watch your little sapling grow, multiply and produce plantlets, take different color variations and forms till it fully matures, some of the saplings require extra care before it hardens and is full grown. While some others are absolutely hands free. If you are ready to give it all the care and love to admire the comparative growth patterns across plants, we suggest you go for a sapling.

Aged

An aged plant will come in a slightly bigger size than a sapling. While we say 'aged', it only means that once a sapling, is now a grown up and would require comparatively less attention than a sapling. If you have the anxiety about going wrong in the process or just cant wait to see a full grown foliage, we recomend you go for an aged plant. Ah ah !! dont get us wrong, age has no bar for plant, they are evergreen, have infinite growth potential and are renewable.
